Past
The Monterey Bay Officers' Spouses Club was established in 1961 when three spouse organizations that represented the engineering, general line, and management schools of the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) merged to create the Officers' Wives Club. The organization was renamed the Officer Students' Wives Club in 1968, Officer Students' Spouses Club in 1991, Monterey Bay Officers' Spouses Club in 2012, and Monterey Bay Spouses Club in 2019.
The club was established to encourage friendships; promote social, cultural and recreational activities for the members; and to support charitable organizations.
Present
Today, the club boasts more than 200 members. Our members are officer and enlisted spouses from the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS), Defense Language Institute (DLI), Naval Support Activity Monterey (NSAM), Department of Defense employees, and international students.
Creating social connections and promoting community involvement continue to be the cornerstones of our club.
We continue to look to the past and allow the history of the spouses club to inspire us, and we look to future with the hope of continuing the legacy of friendship and charity.
